1. What services does Houston Therapy Consult provide for children at home?

We offer comprehensive pediatric home health services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nursing care. Our nursing services include both Private Duty Nursing (PDN) for continuous, hourly care and Skilled Nursing Visits (SNV) for tasks such as wound care, IV antibiotics, lab draws, and more.

2. What is the difference between Private Duty Nursing and Skilled Nursing Visits?

Private Duty Nursing (PDN): Continuous, hourly care for children with complex medical needs (e.g., tracheostomy or ventilator care).
Skilled Nursing Visits (SNV): Short visits to perform specific medical tasks like medication administration, central line care, or wound dressing changes.

Yes. All our staff are licensed professionals with specialized pediatric training. We prioritize safety, quality, and continuity of care by assigning consistent caregivers whenever possible.

Houston Therapy Consult accepts all major Medicaid plans including but not limited to: Traditional Medicaid (TMHP), Children With Special Care Need (CSHCN), Texas Children’s Health Plan (STAR, STAR KIDS, CHIP), United Healthcare Community Health Plan (STAR, STAR KIDS, STAR PLUS+, CHIP), Wellpoint (STAR, STAR KIDS, STAR PLUS+, CHIP), Superior Health Plan, Community Health Choice (STAR, STAR KIDS, STAR PLUS+, CHIP), Driscoll Health Plan (STAR, STAR KIDS, CHIP), Aetna Better Health (STAR, STAR KIDS, CHIP), Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS).
